Columbine- 10 years later, the real story

They weren't goths or loners.
The two teenagers who killed 13 people and themselves at suburban Denver's Columbine High School 10 years ago next week weren't in the "Trenchcoat Mafia," disaffected videogamers who wore cowboy dusters. The killings ignited a national debate over bullying, but the record now shows Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold hadn't been bullied — in fact, they had bragged in diaries about picking on freshmen and "fags."

sigh....

so now we have Columbine revisionism? So it's not due to the fact that one of them was on prescription drugs for depression and then stopped taking them which lead to his fracture?

Geez, people hate guns so much that now we're down to bringing up old incidents to demonize them further???????

More kids die on our roads due to reckless driving...hell, let's ban cell phones!!!!!!!

Look at what the author of the book says for crying out loud!!!!!

These are kids with serious psychological problems."

Langman, whose book profiles 10 shooters, including Harris and Klebold, found that nine suffered from depression and suicidal thoughts, a "potentially dangerous" combination,

So let's ban guns and put all kids on anti-depressants.

Let me give you another example of just how biased this crap really is.

ABC has a school shooting death tally for the United States at 323 over a 13 year period.

http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/popup?id=3625385

Gee....if it is for the US, then why does it include stats for the WORLD????? I didn't know Scotland was part of the US did you?

this is nothing more than media propaganda, see it for what it REALLY is.

Yep and roughly 120 people die every day in vehicle accidents which coincidentally, reckless driving can now be attributed to Borderline Personality Disorder.

Salon had a writer working for them at the time who's finished a new book about it.

He brought up a lot of things in an article right after the incident about how bad the reporting really was..

I've been a fan ever since...

USA was one of the worse offenders on perpetuating pure bs stories about the whole thing.

10 years later they want to try and get it right?

Laughable.

Anyway.....

What you never knew about Columbine

I wrote an email to Cullen right after his first article in Salon and I've been a faithful reader of that site ever since.
The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout. There are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, and prejudices to be found only in the minds of men. For the record, prejudices can kill and suspicion can destroy and a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout all of its own for the children and the children yet unborn and the pity of it is that these things cannot be confined to the Twilight Zone.

Don't you just love all these experts on TV after these horrible shootings?

"Our first analysis hints at indications of a chance of the existence of a mental disorder."

Well no, I call killing a bunch of fellow students/teachers/policemen/bystanders a perfectly normal behavior.

I had no idea that what happened to Cassie Bernall wasn't true. I'm actually glad that it's not true. I didn't get to read the article in its entirety, but does it say who/where the story came from?

It does and it's pretty much covered in the book and the article. I can't remember the specifics though.
