I haven't read up on this newest release too much (shame on me), but from what you're saying, I would assume they've taken the same direction as google's chrome browser and treat each new tab as a new thread / process, so if one crashes, it doesn't crash the entire browser.Easto wrote:! Every time I open a new Tab I get a new instance of IE showing up in my Task Manager. ???
The benefits outweigh the small added overhead.

Yep, seems like it's that:

Be advised: there is a issue with immunization by Spybot S&D that I've been reading about.
There are reports that IE8 will not start fast if user’s system is immunized using Spybot S&D. It was easy to reproduce this in Vista and XP. There are also reports of high-CPU usage when Spybot S&D with immunization enabled.
And then there are reports that IE8 will not load fast or it will hang if restricted sites exists in IE Restricted Sites zone, e.g. using IE-SPYAD.
It would prob be best if you want to stick with IE8 you should disable the immunization and IE-SPYAD or not load IE8 and stay on IE7 till a resolve is issued for Spybot.

Glad you posted this. When I first installed it I reset Internet Explorer 7 to defaults then installed, it ran great until I enabled IE-SPYAD, IE 8 wouldn't even run with it enabled. SpyBot seems to slow the initial startup of IE 8 but once it starts things seem fine. I guess there is an issue and entries in your restricted zone.Sava700 wrote:Be advised: there is a issue with immunization by Spybot S&D that I've been reading about.

This would also be an issue with SpywareBlaster as well since it adds to your restricted zone as well.
