Plugging the scanner in is the easy part... But you gotta have the right driver software for that scanner. Did she give you a disk with the scanner? If not, get on the web and try to find a driver for the specific brand and model of the scanner. Try the manufacturer's website first.

Well im no #1 by any means.
But if the scanner has a pin connection then it's probably a printer (parallel) connection.
I use a USB, and I know nothing about the connection you have.
So, I'd wait for a better repley, and mean time, do some surfing for that brand of info for that scanner..
odds are, the cards your pc has and the finding of drivers for that scanner are gonna make or break its operation fuction with your PC..
anyway Goodluck!!

Connect the 25 pin parallel interface cable to your PC's printer port. Attach the other end of the cable to the connector to the "To PC" on your scanner. If you want to connect a printer, connect it to the connector named "To Printer" on your scanner. You should also check if your computer supports EPP for Parallel Port Mode. Hope this helps.

What brand scanner is it? Get the software if she has it. And the Brand & #'s should be written on it somewhere.. What type of a connection does it have, USB.. ?? Is it fairly new?
Like said in the other repley, 1'st go to the manufactures web site and see if they have the drivers for that brand scanner to dwnload, if not, you'll need to find another site who does.
But, with out the proper drivers you not gonna make it work.

thank you.. that's what i was thinking about..cause i dont have a scsi card..Originally posted by rbrescia:
Cindy the only thing I can think of is if you are using a old AX SCSI Card, it's not compatible with the Twain 32 drivers. It was released with that scanner in 1992 for use with Windows 3.1. If this is the case your better off just buying a new USB scanner, you can pick one up for under $100.
thank you so much
