HD Question

Post by 24giovanni »

IF 2 hd were 500GB in size. One of them RPM's is listed as 7200 RPM 16MB Cache and the other is listed as 5400 to 7200 RPM 16MB Cache, would I even notice the difference in RPM? Please let me know.

thx

The seagate is faster, whether it has to do with the variable RPM of the WD or not I don't know, but you would see a difference in speed between the 2 drives.

Doing full malware/virus scans, defrags, loading games, large files and such, yes noticeable.

Web browsing and other daily general things, no.

That's a variable speed drive.....that link doesn't show much for reviews/specs/benchmarks though, I cannot find a seek time.

The minute or so I gave Google looking for benchmarks on it, I found one over at Toms Hardware, it was "middle of the pack" for performance.
