Strange latency issue with WoW

Post by Nikay »

Hi guys,

I live in China, yes, that might be the problem but here is what is happening :)

I log into wow, and my latency is bad, can start at 210, then go to 700, then over 2000, back to 1500 e.t.c. Now, the funny thing is, eventually, it will go down to about 240, and stay there, all day, night, aslong as I dont exit WOW :)

Sometimes it takes about 10 minutes, sometimes an hour, but the latency will go away and its trouble free gaming.

I am really stumped as to what is going on, I have tried countless things, but its just the same, eventually, I can play just fine, but the waiting for the latency to go down gets annoying especially when it takes a hour.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

First off is the computer clean? spyware? Malware? etc... that could be pulling bandwidth at the start.

Hiya,

Yup, all clean and the tracert to the server is fine also. I am using prt triggering for the ports and this is the way I have found works best, when it works that is :) Have tried forwarding, and not even any type of forwarding also. Also have the usual NIC suggested tweaks.
