Forum poster commits suicide live on webcam

Post by Prey521 »

I frequent that board a lot. Pretty crazy story though he took the pills before he went live on the webcam, so he wasn't really egged on.

now the family is blaming people that was watching it for not acting sooner to save him or something... I mean WTH!? Its not those that just flipped on the cams fault he did what he did..
The family of a U.S. college student who killed himself live on the Internet says they are horrified his life ended before a virtual audience, and infuriated that viewers of the live webcam or operators of the Web site that hosted it didn't act sooner to save him.

Typical reaction these days.

I'm not even sure how you would go about reporting something like that.

Oh I dunno. You might try something as simple as a "report this post" .

I'm only a mod and I can still figure out what ISP it might be coming from and get hold of them and let them get involved. In the end, isn't that what happened?

Granted that a lot of people thought it was a hoax but my experience shows that few people are doers in situations they aren't usually exposed to.

It isn't the websites problem to bare imo. The family of that dead man should be looking in the mirror and asking themselves some things. Raise your kids. Don't let the media do it for you. It's nothing new.

It all sounds eerily like the movie Untraceable.

Even if you could report it, he had taken the pills before he started broadcasting, so he was dead either way.
