The new Star Trek movie
Some crazy looking effects.
May turn out to be a good way to revive the franchise.

eh, Star Trek's never done it for me.YARDofSTUF wrote:If you watch the 2nd trailer maybe you'll save another 25 cents! lol
The series with Piccard was good but the Kirk one and the other post-Kirk one...ones all just bored me.
I like the concept and am sure the series will never die, but kinda whipping a dead horse that was never that great in the first place.
You realize this movie is about TOS (The Original Series), actually, takes place before TOS. That's the Enterprise being built there on the ground, the very first one 1701, no Bloody A, B, C OR D. And that is young James Kirk.Sava700 wrote:I think all of them were great cept for the old series shows that I really never went back to get in to..

Yes Brent, I do realize that but my point is the way they were made pretty much never got me into it with the available props and ability to make visuals in the original series.Brent wrote:You realize this movie is about TOS (The Original Series), actually, takes place before TOS. And yes Brent I know the first Enterprise was built on the ground as it is being shown here in this new movie. I'm a big fan too.

Everyone ready for the movie?? We are about 2 weeks away!!

Read through a article someone wrote that hasn't seen any of the past movies that said it blew them away during the advanced screening! This should be one of the best movies to release this summer besides Transformers2, Terminator and GI JOE! wooooo

I'll watch Terminator..I'd actually pay to see that at the movies, but I'd rather suffer through Snakes on a Plane again instead of transformers or gi josephine.Sava700 wrote:This should be one of the best movies to release this summer besides Transformers2, Terminator and GI JOE! wooooo

Personally I think it's stupid. I would like to have my big blockbuster movies during the summer...not in spring.
4th of July used to be the big opening weekend for summer movies.

It is playing in local theater tonight at 7 and 10 PM. I plan to see it tonight, unless it is just too crowded or I can't get a ticket, in which case I'll watch it tomorrow. Doesn't matter really, I plan to see it several times this weekend.

I saw it 2 nights ago and then last night too - I loved the movie. The first time round, I was enjoying it so much I didn't see any flaws, on the second viewing though, you catch some of the cheesy-ness, or the parts where they tried a little too hard to tip their hats to startrek TOS.
Still extremely entertaining.

There are a few parts I went WTF at though, and some of the moments I thought would be very powerful weren't as powerful as I thought they would be, but overall this movie gets an A+ from me and earns several viewing's at the theater, as well as a DVD purchase when it is released. I want it to succeed so there can be more movies like this.
