After playing some UT with friends the old computer speakers started a permanent buzz due to the volume I had over the Thanksgiving (Canadian version) weekend.
This brings me to now. I go to Future Shop and buy a set of Altec Lansinc ATP3 speakers (which kick ass for the meager price of $119.00 Canadian, or $115.00+shipping at Chapters).
So I get home and wire up the black beauties, unplug the existing speakers, then plug in the ATP3's. I turn on the amp (located on the right satellite) and start Winamp with Bassment Jaxx "Rendez-Vous". Great sound, turn up the base...rockin' soun d. Now, I shut off winamp and get up to go to the kitchen, then hear a wierd "vzrt!" sound from the speakers....Oh no! What the hell was that sound. Turns out my SB-Live card just died! Crap.
See, my luck sucks. But I do have some once and while. I managed to find the reciept for the sound card in my messy car, so I'm taking it back for another. Whew.
Don't trade places with me, not yet anyways. Lol
BTW, since I had the computer open last night, I looked over my Duron processor, and noticed that it was not locked..whoowhoo
I got it up to a stable 103/773 (@48°C) from a 100/650. Sweet. Now I have an extra 4-5 fps in the Q3 demo. Awesome.
