So I'm not sure what happened. My computer suddenly wouldn't boot at all. No spinning fans, nothing. So I ordered a random 500wt Antec (http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=27500) for my system: AMD Athlon64 3200+, Asus ATX board.
So I put it in, it started up. But then I realized that I hadn't plugged in the video card from the power supply. So I shut it down, connected it, and tried it. Nothing. A single spin, and nothing.
I unplug the video card power and it works, but since its not plugged into the power nothing gets displayed.
My mobo doesnt have onboard video, and would like buying a video card (current is a Geforce 6600 that has worked fine for years) to be a last resort, have any ideas?

Try clearing the cmos through the following:
- Move the cmos jumper to the enabled position (its usually close to the cmos battery
- Unplug the PSU from the mainboard
- Take out the cmos battery
This should clear any corrupt cmos data and allow for the system to possibly start up. I recommend taking the videocard out of the system first and trying powering up. If the system posts and beeps, then you can try putting the videocard back in. If the system does not post, then you have a dead main board on your hands. Let me know how the testing goes and if you need anymore help,
Cheers
