VIA KT133A on KT7A with Athlon

Post by yurij_14 »

I just purchased a 1Ghz Athlon with the KT7A motherboard. I'm also using the ATI Radeon 64Mb DDR. My computer is now constantly freezing up. I am hearingthat AMD has problems with my video card. Becasue ATI is now cross-licensed with INTEL????

What should I do?
I have latest drivers for everything and the new Win2k service pack.

Am I to assume that if I had an Intel processor I would have no problems???

who did you hear about ATI being cross licensed with Intel as the cause from? Most likely it is due to Win2k not being compatable with the radeons, as a few members on this board have posted problems on that issue.

Umm, what fsb are you running at? And what CPU did you get? The new 266fsb one?

If you have the older one (at 100Mhz) and your mobo is running at 133MHz, you got your CPU runnning at 1330MHz...

I've got a Radeon and a gig t-bird it's very stable for me.
Fdisk?
It only take me one beer to get drunk...just not sure if it's the ninth or tenth one

I use PIII's myself, but over at dslreports---the hardware forum, I believe---I just saw a posting that indicated AMD no longer endorsed abit motherboards (this may be for socket A only).

So take a look there, or go to the Abit web address and survey the topic there.
