Gtx 280

Post by OSULLY »

So far, CPU pushed from 2.4 to 3 Ghz, 667 mem replaced with 800, 300W power replaced with 650W, now to see if it handles the GTX 280

OK, first day done and some observations. GPU2 is only using 5 to 9% of one core leeving the rest to SMP. I've worked on three SMP's and had strange variation in PPD. two SMP's gave me about 1550 PPD and one gave me 1973 PPD. 1550 is closer to what I expected. Why one ran at normal speed who knows. All were 2665. Points on the first day break down about so 900 PS3,1920 SMP, 7380 GPU2. I think I've pushed my HP farther than it should go and it won't handle another video card. Best wishes to others that try this route.

HP m9040n, Q6600 pushed to 3Ghz, mem ddr2 800, 650W power,GTX 280
