Overclocking my DIMMs, HOW?

Post by Gorefeast »

I now have two Mushkin 128 meg DIMMs that can go up to approximately 145 and be stable.

But how do I do that on a Gigabyte GA-7IX mother board? All I have is some settings in the BIOS related to memory.

Anyone understand calculations with these:

SDRAM PH LIMIT Range: 1, 4, 32 or 64 only
default=32
SDRAM Idle LIMIT Range: 1, 8, 32, 64 only
default=8
SDRAM Trc Timing Value Range: 3 - 8 cycles
default=8
SDRAM Trp Timing Value Range: 2 or 3
default=3
SDRAM Tras Timing Value Range: 2 - 7
default=5
SDRAM Trcd Timing Value Range: 1 - 4
default=3

While I am at it, anyone understand the AGP
Aperture size: 32, 64, 128, or 256
and what factors to consider/setting to use?

tia

I lowered all those settings to the lowest except for:

SDRAM PH LIMIT Range: 1, 4, 32 or 64 only
default=32
SDRAM Idle LIMIT Range: 1, 8, 32, 64 only
default=8

So far so good!
AGP Aperture I have left at 64 I think.
