Can't Share Folders

For whatever reason on my HP ZE4500 I can't get it to share folders. I'm trying to set up an ad hoc network between it and another laptop but every time I tell it to share a folder it says "An error occurred while trying to share My Music. Server service is not started. The shared source was not created at this time." I'm using a netgear WG511v2 adaptor. I have tryed using the netgear supplied program and windows connection program but neither works. I can connect to the workgroup and ping both computers on it but I can only share files on 1 of the computers. Any thoughts?
