2009 GTR, a 911 Turbo killer

Post by Zeex »

Have you seen the new GTR?

0-60 in 3.3 seconds. Would beat most supercars at a fraction of a cost.

I have two that would probably take it. I know one would and the other would be close. But one is a 68 SS Camaro with a 406. :D And the other is an Eclipse GSX.

Mustang GT Vortech supercharged 731hp
I also took off it everything heavy, approx 180-200kg

Even our old Mustang 69 with cobra jet engine would beat that.

They have the z06 listed at 4.1 secs to hit 60, but 3.6-3.7 is the real number.

They averaged upper 5 second range in 0-60...the suspension, tires, traction, gearing of back then...most pony/muclecars of that era couldn't get much below 6 second 0-60 runs. Only one I can think of from the 60's, off the top of my head, which could approach low 3 second 0-60 runs...was the 289 Shelby Cobra...I believe it was 3.1 seconds, and I think the first to do 0-100 back to 0- in under 10 seconds. The 427 Cobra was too heavy to approach that.

Yeah in short run it would beat it, but keep in mind that car is completely unmodded, everything is OEM.

Ok but your talking about a car thats modded and a factory car. I could dig up some EVO videos that would make you cry if you raced. :D

The 428 Cobra jet would do 0-60 in 5.4 secs, and a quarter mile in about 13.4 secs.

Stock for stock the Nissan wins, its got a bit more weight, same torque, and more HP than a stock OEM Cobra jet Stang.

They're saying 475hp to the wheels so at the crank is 570hp+ also the auto transmission can shift faster than any human can.

Not forgotten.. :p That was covered under "traction and suspension" when I mentioned above. The old big blocks would suck up 1 seconds worth of time in the 0-60 just spinning wheels with all that torque..plus the sloppy bias ply tires of back then.

the GTR is amazing, ive been reading about it for over a year or so. One day I plan to buy one, I just cant wait to see the after market for this car. I think a company called Amues? made a after market exhaust which open it up to over 510+ whp easily.
