Jericho is jumpy

When I try to play Clive Barker's Jericho the video in the intro movies is fine and the music is fine but when it gets to the menu screen every thing goes crazy. The music is still fine and the background animation seems ok(Im not quite sure what it should look like anyway) but the mouse movement is horrible. The cursor just jumps around the screen. Everything else seems to be good but that.

Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Im running a Vista premium laptop with a Core2 Duo and 2GB memory and the standard video card.

Its the intel card which I have come to find out is not worth much.

Ya system requirements for the game seem to recommend at least a geforce 6600 at the bare minimum.
