My dad needs (wants) a new printer

Multimedia, digital images, photography, video, audio, related software, Photo[C]hopping, desktop screenshots, wallpapers, personal photos, digital cameras, pictures you'd like to share, digital video, avi, mpeg encoding, audio, mp3s, FLAC, codecs, etc.

Something that he can print pics with. Low volume printing, just good quality.

$300 to $600

That price range should get an excellent printer. Look at the HP's but beware the ink costs are nuts.

Canon all the way.. I don't know which one is "the latest" one out..
Look for a new cannon with individual ink carts.. because you usual will use
your black cart first before any other colors. Some companies make one cart that does all..
you can go try a lot of carts that way, while just printing text.
