There was this movie I saw a long time ago, and the only bit I really remember is that the captain (I think) had a pet cat, and the ship was hit and the cat fell in the water and drowned..but the guy survived, so when he got a new ship, he got a new kitten, and taught it how to swim in the bathtub so that if they were hit again, his kitty would survive.
anyone know what I"m on about?

Yeah I've tried all kinds of search terms and nothing's working. I just know it was an old war movie, maybe made in the 60s. The scene I described obviously wasn't the main plot of the movie or anything, I just have always remembered it. I also don't remember the ending, if the new ship was hit and his new cat had to swim, or anything like that. I just remember that he'd been on a ship that was hit and his old cat drowned, and he was teaching his kitten to swim so that it wouldn't happen to him again.
I should ask my mum, probably. She's a huge WWII buff. I just thought someone here might know...
