Bouncing a wireless signal between two routers?

Post by rxylab »

I did do this easily between a BT ADSL and 3com router. But with a Netgear and linksys router, it really is beginning to frustrate me.

Ok here's what I have, and trying to do:

I've got a Netgear WGR614v6 and a Linksys WRT54GC router. I want my Netgear, connected to the internet, to wirelessly connect to the Linksys and the linksys to provide the internet wirelessly.

I have actually searched other forums but they just talk about Linksys to Linksys via ethernet.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers.

rxylab,
did you have any luck with this?
I'm trying to something similar with a Netopia Wireless DSL Modem/Router (3347NWG-VGx) and a Linksys Wireless Router (WRT54GL).

The reason I need to do this is so that I can share the All In One printer over the network without losing the functionality provided by the manufacturer's software. It is an HP 2840.

I tried using a wireless print server, but you lose all the scan and fax capability with this.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I had no luck with this. I have given up to be honest, but I am thinking that I need a wireless access point. Then maybe the second router can read the wireless signal?

I'm not sure about it but will report back.
