help new computer! slow download!

Post by patrickwoo91 »

hello, i recently got a new computer...used teh same old dlink wireless dwl510 pci card...have the dsl 604t dlink router!

I am on adsl2 IINET australia..and i can get around 1mB/sec on torrents+ general downloads...but i cant even get passed 50kB/sec on this new computer=[!!

HELP ME DECIHPER WHAT IS THE PROBLEM! thank you!

TCP options string = 020405ac0103030301010402

MTU = 1492
MTU is optimized for PPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for optimal throughput.

MSS = 1452
MSS is optimized for PPPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising your MTU value.

Default TCP Receive Window (RWIN) = 511104
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 3 bits (scale factor of 6)
Unscaled TCP Receive Window = 63888

RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other RWIN values that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
511104 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8) <-- current value
255552 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
127776 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
63888 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product (Note this is not a speed test):

Your TCP Window limits you to: 20444 kbps (2556 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your TCP Window limits you to: 8178 kbps (1022 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 50 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 00100000 (32)
Precedence (priority) = 001 (priority)
Delay = 0 (normal delay)
Throughput = 0 (normal throughput)
Reliability = 0 (normal reliability)
Cost = 0 (normal cost)
Check bit = 0 (correct, 8th checking bit must be zero)

DiffServ (RFC 2474) =

Does the new computer have any software firewalls installed or windows xp's firewall running in control panel ,and advanced you may need to check some of those options in xp sp2's firewall
??/ Make sure your network card drivers are up to date ,and try putting network card in 100 full duplex..

If you are running that p2p ,and other stuff it's going to slow things down i say do manual ip's on the computer if you haven't aleady on both computer make sure you use the same rwin on both computers

hey buddy ... i have absolutely no firewalls....
i just used fullspeed 2.7 and it did nothing=/?!

How do i optimize the card settings to network card in 100 full duplex

and also will changing some settings on my dlink dsl 604t wireless router in "wireless performance" improve the range.. i mean the router and pc is on the same floor with only one wall in obstruction.

These are the Wireless Performance feature for the AP(Access Point) portion.
Beacon interval: 200
DTIM: 5
Hidden SSID: disabled
Antenna transmit power: FULL
RTS Threshold: 2346
Frag Threshold: 2346
b/g Mode: g only
