What is a good scanner that I can get for about $150-$175.

Anyone have any suggestions??? :confused:

i just bought the canon 650u, for 89 bucks. i bought it at best buy. pretty good scaner, easy set up.

Visioneer makes pretty good scanners. I have an older 7600 USB model that you can't buy anymore. It makes excellent scans. The newer models are getting decent reviews, so you might check them out.

i got the canon canoscan 650u.........works great...its fully compatable with 98/se/ME/2000.....data and power both use the USB port, 42 bit color, etc
and it 1/3 inches high

Make sure it is compatible with your OS.

Some aren't with ME.

Also, HP seems to be Over-Priced.

Get a UMAX. Really cheap. You can get one for $99 and it can scan at 1600X1200 dpi and at 36-bit color. Or, you can get a better UMAX for fifty dollars more and can even better quality scans and if you have a firewire port, you can take advantage of it.

One of my scanners is a Visioneer 7600 USB...doesn't work with winME, even with ME patch from scanner website.

Hey Keeper,

That's very strange! I'm running WinBlows ME and my Visioneer 7600-USB works just fine. Maybe you should remove and re-install the Visioneer driver.
CASE: Mid-tower, modified with blowhole (92mm Sunon fan with chrome grill).
POWER SUPPLY: Enermax EG451P-VE 430W with (2) fans.
CASE FANS: 120mm Sunon front intake, 92mm Sunon rear exhaust.
OTHER FANS: Vantec Triple-fan HD cooler and Vantec super slot cooler.
CPU/MOBO: PIII-733 (Slot 1) on Aopen AX64 (VIA KT133A).
