I reply to many threads, but not like mad haggis, even at my worst. He goes out of his way to pretend to be drunk in almost every post. When he wants to he can make a clear and intellient post but that makes up less than 1% of his total posting. On any other forum he'd be banned by now. The "joke" got old about 2,493 posts ago.

Don't give terrorists new ideas like that. Now instead of beheadings, we'll be hearing about be-fingerings, so no one can point the finger at them.

I think I woke up on the right side of the bed today, or somewhere near the middle.

I've slept well and I always wake up on the same side of the bed. I feel my question is legitimate.

Do you think that other people banned for spam like fake 2nd accounts by members and the people advertising stuff shouldnt be banned or what?

According to how I understand the infraction system Mad Haggis should be banned by now for his type of posts.

I can be very happy without pointing fingers, but obviously if you follow his posts since the begining he has no interest in trying to communicate. He is the same thing as the people that join and make the advertisement threads, only without the sale item, actually they tend to make more sense!

If you see it differently I'd be happy to hear your thoughts on him.

Does Haggis flame other members? I can't recall that he does.

Does Haggis have a habit of getting posts pulled? I can't recall that he does.

Does Haggis troll to incite riots here? I can't recall that he does.

Does Haggis spam? Yes....but so do lots of members on a regular basis.

Really this should have probably been a question in a PM sent to Philip or Ken. Otherwise it looks like mob rule.

Who else spams on the same level as Haggis? The only users that come to my mind are banned. Isnt that what the infraction system is for?

Actually we brought the infraction system into play for a couple of reasons. It's an easier way for us to ban commercial spamming. If we used to to control spamming by our esteemed members, the GF would be barren.

Other reasons are varied but it was thought that quite possibly it might help for some of the insulting that goes on here.

"Spam" has been reduced to a generic description of posting frequently, and so few people are discerning when it comes to clarifying what truly constitutes it.

Two major examples here:

Spammy replies to everything he sees because he seems to equate postcount with popularity. "Oh look, there goes Spammy again, spamming up the boards, teehee roofles!" He'll reply just to reply. He'll post ROFL smilies at things that aren't funny, not because of subjective humor, but because they're news stories about disembowelments or tax hikes. That's annoying, but nothing like offender number one.

Mad_Haggis, on the other hand, is like someone who wants everyone to know they're drinking (or at least, pulling a Dean Martin) and so he replies to every thread in sight just to reinforce whatever small measure of popularity his once-funny material brought him. The joke is not only old, it's dead, buried, and won't be resurrected when Jesus returns. Spoiling legitimate threads with e.e. cummings on Rumple Minze nonsense to the point where good threads get pushed off the first page is ****ing irritating.

Yes, you can ignore users, but we shouldn't HAVE to; it's one thing to ignore me because you don't like my abrasive replies, but it's quite another to be forced to filter someone out because they're a ****ing ignoramus.
