G & W Drives?

After finishing a total reformat, doing selective startup, disenabling virus scan, I still don't have enough memory to load a program. But I have now another drive: G or sometimes W. (never both at same time) I think maybe somehow drive C was partitioned & that is where this other drive comes from. I have no clue as to how it happened but I would like to get rid of it. Any suggestions? My memory is so bad that I forgot where I put it!! (30GB)
