Disabled Startup Items!

Heyas!

Just a quick thing. A while ago i read up on how to disable the Microsoft office feature that automatically loads when windows loads. I now have in my Start/Programs/ menu a folder that says "disabled startup programs" and in it is microsoft office startup(or similar)."
Thing is I just cant remember how I did this

)
I need to do it to my other computer but i cant remember how i did it!
Anyone know how?

Try this:

Start--->Run--->Msconfig---->Then go to the Startup Tab on top. Your startup programs will be listed there with the appropriate enable/disable option. Hope this helps

where exactly is this Msconfig kept?
I go to Start/Run and type in "Msconfig" and it cant locate the file:/

What OS do you have? For Windows 9x its msconfig for Win2k Im not sure what it is

Try this click: Start\programs\Accessories\System tools\System Information. now a window opens up and click on tools\and down to system configuration utility there you'll see what do enable or disable. disable as much as ou can for faster boot up ....

Msconfig is in the Windows System Folder.

Gypo77, you're not running Windows 98, right? It doesn't come with Msconfig. If you are running Windows 98, make sure that you're typing Msconfig without quotes or anything else. If you're running Windows 95, try the following. Right click on the Start button then click Explore. On the left pane, under the Start Menu folder, click on the "+" next to Programs. Now, find the StartUp folder and click it. On the right pane, you'll see the programs that load at Start Up. On a blank area of the right pane, right click and menu will drop down. Go to New, then click on Folder and type in any name you wish to give it and hit the Enter key. Now, drag/move (not copy) the StartUp program/s into the new folder. Next time you boot up, the program/s will not start up, but the new folder will pop up on your Desktop so you'll have to close it down each time you reboot.
