My Week

Post by Roody »

It's been a rather trying week guys. On Monday I went to the hospital for an X-Ray when I thought I was getting pleurisy again. On Tuesday morning I was contacted by my Doctor and told that they found a nodule on my right lung which needless to say panicked me bigtime.

Early this afternoon I went in for a petscan (A test run to search your body from your head to your knees for cancer). Thankfully, the test came back negative and I was informed that the nodule was in fact scar tissue on my lung from a previous bronchial issue which the Pleurisy could have caused.

Anyway, pretty scary week to say the least.

Thankfully I got a clean bill of health, but talk about a scare.

Sorry to hear about your voice Debbie.

I'm glad you don't have cancer Roody. That part was pretty good news.

Pleurisy sounds very unpleasant :(

I had to google pleurisy. :o

I looked at the wiki first...
Pleurisy, also known as pleuritis, is an inflammation of the pleura, the lining of the pleural cavity surrounding the lungs, which can cause painful respiration and other symptoms. Pleurisy can be generated by a variety of infectious and non-infectious causes. The effects of pleurisy can often be felt long after the condition has gone away.

...
Symptoms

* Fever
* Cough
* Chills
* Shortness of breath
* Weight loss
* Poor appetite
* Sharp chest pain with breathing. Pain can limit the movement on the side of the chest with pleurisy.
* The pain can also be in the back, up into the neck, or down into the abdomen.
* Rapid shallow breaths
* Inability to take a deep breath
* Itching in sites on the back (near the site of the lungs, but no visible rashes)
I hope you feel better soon.

I'm sure it was scary.

Prayers sent

Hi Roody

Pleased it turned out well for you overall Roody. The not knowing can cause real problems, usually without justification.

I kinda got my own scare this week. I had a tough time deciding whether or not to post.

I've been having chest pains and other problems. It started last weekend.

Most of the week I've been going to bed right after work, a couple days I barely made it thru my 10 hr shifts. I've been extremely tired and have felt lightheaded non-stop and often like passing out, w/ chest pains on occasions.

All friggin week I've had horrible pounding headaches, not migraines.

Prolly the most worrisome symptom for me is that I feel weird, for lack of a better description. I feel very strange... lightheaded maybe? I've never felt like this before.

I've been having some pain and tingling in some of my extremities too. My lips and right hand are in that condition right now.

Misty has been asking me to go to a dr all week, but I've been adamant about not going w/o insurance.

After my nap earlier, I finally did some googling on heart attack symptoms and such.

I'm freaking out right now because I beleive I may have already had one, and I may have another today. I told Misty during my lunchtime, some chit happened and I felt really ill.

The punk who stole my stuff, who works at this place... just won't give up on trying to provoke something. He f*cked w/ me first thing in the morn. Lately I've been missing my fishing equipment (and I had $1,000 worth easily :irate: ), and some machinist tools he stole, so he is not my favorite person to begin with.

I feel so ill I cancelled my trip to the steamer for tonite, and not sure if I'm gonna make it tomorry either. :cry:

I can feel the usual chemical imbalance from getting pissed off, but I can also feel it's more than that, I've been ill all week.

Last night I had a pizza delivered from the best place out here, been around over 40 years... even that didn't make these symptoms go away :(

I've been drying out since sunday too, but that hasn't fixed the problems either. :(

[quote="http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=4595
A doctor who's studied the results of several tests must diagnose a heart attack. The doctor will

* review the patient's complete medical history.
* give a physical examination.
* use an electrocardiogram (e-lek"tro-KAR'de-o-gram) (ECG or EKG) to discover any abnormalities caused by damage to the heart. An ECG is a medical device that makes a graphical record of the heart's electrical activity.
* sometimes use a blood test to detect abnormal levels of certain enzymes in the bloodstream. [/quote]

Not looking forward to that :(

I hope it's ok w/ you that I shared this in your thread Roody.

One thing that scares me is that I have too much unfinished business. I hope to turn 47 later this year and have my life back on track.

Sure thing man. I have no problems with you doing that at all. I am glad to hear you are going to get checked out. I will keep you in my prayers.
