Question about auto glass repair

Post by Zilog B »

Ok, wifes car got hit by a rock while I was driving it this weekend. We had one of those places come to her work and fix the windshield. Now she says you can still see one or two of the chips. The initial damage was 2 really small chips, and one larger chip that might have had a very small crack. The largest was about 1/2 the size of a dime. I haven't been out to look at it because it's dark but I was under the impression that they could fill all chips an cracks and make the windshield look like new. If I can still make out any chips at all did I get robbed?

Where those 2 remaining makes separate chips..or in totally different ares of the windshield? I suppose the place that did the repair would say something like "Well they didn't show us those other two chips".....were they pointed out?

Nope, they were all within 1" of each other. I have yet to see the car.

Zilog, they inject the chips with resin. Depending on the chip if it's even doable. Once done, most of them you can still see where the chip was but it shouldn't be as obvious.

The repair is to keep the chip from developing a major crack.

They did have some kind of guarantee on the work performed?
