'Kansas Woman Sues Police After Baby Dies'

Post by Brk »

A police videotape released Tuesday shows Sofia Salva telling officers numerous times last Feb. 5 that she was pregnant, bleeding and needed to go to a hospital.

After the ninth request, the tape shows, a female officer asked: "How is that my problem?"

I hope she gets double what she's asking. Warrants or no don't justify refusing medical attention when it's requested. Why they never called a medic is complete incompetence

Thats my local NBC affiliate. But to stay on topic, what happened to protect and serve. How hard is it to get on the radio and ask for a bus at your location. I am not sure a law suit is in order, but a complaint to the PD about the officers lack of concern for the public for which she was sworn in to serve is in order.

No worries female officer. My team of lawyers will explain it to you.
People will forget what you said... and people will forget what you did... but people will never forget how you made them feel.

The fact that she was an immigrant from Africa in no way entered into the officers handling of the case.

Where do we get cops like this?

:( And yet once again an innocent child has suffered the price. I am sure that officers have heard every excuse in the book, and listened to stories that are hair raising from people attempting to get out of their immediate dilema...but how hard is it to check to see if someone is indeed bleeding? Never mind the woman herself here...there was the chance that she was speaking truely, and an innocent childs life might be at stake. This is just unreal. :(

I hope she cleans them out.

There is no excuse for that. None at all.

The actions of the police were criminal. They should be prosecuted. Suing the department would only serve to punish tax payers.

The reason a lawsuit is in order is because it is rare for cops to be held accountable for their actions. Not saying it doesn't happen, but not to the extent of a private citizen. I say fry up some pigs.

Agreed and I'm sure a compliaint is coming. Still, you know a suit is also coming. Your right, the taxpayers are going to have to cough it up, meaning that all those who do the hiring and training for the City of Kansas, failed. Quit possibly, heads should roll on that one too.
