I intend to install Win2000 on 2nd hard drive, so do I need to set the 2nd hard drive active too? And will I be automatically presented with choices of OS on boot up after the installation?
Also, does it run only on NTFS file system? Which mean I can't read the data on 2nd harddrive when boot into Win9x/ME. Currently using Win ME on 1st hard drive.
When you install win200 it will install a boot loader and yes you get to choose which OS to boot into. It will work on a 32bit FAT and if you want it to use 32bit fdisk the drive and paration it with a win98 boot disk.
UM, I dont think its possible to set partition as active on a slave HD. Im not sure if you install it onto the second HD if the boot manager will be used, I was wondering about this also. I ended up not doing it.
yes, while in windows 98se insert win2k disc you will then be able to pick partition and name for win2k...the boot loader will be automatic and you can even install win2k on the same hard drive/partition as any other version of windows if you want...go ahead and install win2k colour, you will enjoy its greatness...ive gotten to the point where i dont even use win98 or ME anymore...win2k does everything.
