question about how to use bootmagic

Post by agentq232 »

hi i wanna use bootmagic to dual boot a system. I have win 98 installed on drive c and want to install win 2k onto drive d. But when i put in the cd it asks me about upgrading. How do i install win2k onto drive d without screwing up win98 on drive c? I also might install win xp instead of win2k, but we'll see if the dl finishes soon enough or not. thanks!

actually I have done the same thing you have. What you need to do is put in your startup disks along with the CD-ROM for 2K and reboot your computer. It will load up from in there and then give you an option to choose where you want to install it. This is how I have done it everytime I have done a dual boot and I have always gotten the request wanting to know where I want to put the second OS. Then I have always changed the C to a D. Good luck and let us know if you need anymore help.
