motorcycle put me in hospital today

Post by brembo »

ow.

Full dislocation of my right shoulder. Hit a tree a full wick. I had to walk out of the forest for about 1/2 mile, get in a car and meet an ambulance. Total time in excruciating pain, about 1.5 hours. Morphine didn't touch the pain, only got relief after they knocked me out and relocated the bone.

I'm trussed up snd cannot move my right arm at all. Have to go meet an orthopedic surgeon wednesday too see how much other damage I did.

30mph, weird deflection and the tree stopped me COLD. The pain was incredible. Morphine didn't slow my heart at all, didn't drop my pressure at all. I wanted to pass out, but the streaks of pain just eould not allow it.

I *should* be right as rain in 4 weeks tho, and back in the saddle in 2 months, I hope.

Damn Brembo!!! Is the bike ok? :D

Seriously, I hate seeing fellow bikers getting hurt on their bikes. Get a quick recovery and do not hesitate to get back on that bike. Although considering you have a pretty bad injury, things could of been worse off for you. I actually think your lucky to walk away remembering who you are for instance.

Get well!

To answer some questions:
Bike is fine, MX bikes are tough and the bike itself never hit anything besides the ground.
Tree is going to die, my shoulder ripped off a huge chunk of bark, and I *think* my boot dented it reall well.

I got crossed up after a slight graze with my left knee and was pratically off the bike when the pine and I had our tussle.

I feel about 1000% better today. Bones get all pissy when not in thier joints.

oxycodone, yeah baby

A quick note, my dogs went nuts when I got home. I had to sit down and allow them to sniff my shoulder and love on me extra hard. They knew BEFORE I got home that I had been injured. Odd. Banjoe likes to sleep on my right side, but last night he slept at my head and rested his nose om my shoulder. He'd whine now and again and nuzzle his nose into my neck. Katy curled up and put her head on my banged up knee. No pain alevaition from this, but the mental therapy was spot-on. I slept very well considering.
