Lasers Spark Fuel Savings

Post by minir »

Hi to all
Interesting development.
--

Scientists have devised a way to replace spark plugs with laser beams to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. The laser can be channelled through hollow glass fibres and directed to an optimum point in the cylinder to ignite fuel vapour.

The result is better combustion and a more efficient engine relative to one with spark plugs, which corrode with use. Researchers at Colorado State University in America, who have tested their theory in the laboratory, are now working with commercial partners.

Hi Chris

The LCD has been much kinder to my eyes, Thanks Chris. :)

I've played with it to the point i have the fonts jacked up (144dpi)and all things possible done to now enable me to run it at its natural resolution (1280x1024) as well. Very happy with it Chris. :thumb:

Hi Craig321

Cost & practicality can also be a factor in these things Craig321. Quite often a good idea sinks due to the fact of extreme climate fluctuations in various parts of the world and other such problems.

The Laser seems probable as cars now employ so much computing power already it wouldn't be too big a stretch?

Time will tell but a petrol eases up solutions must be found.

Thanks Craig321 & do have a great day :)

Well sir your laser lense needs to be replaced, your fiber optic cable is hosed and the diamond that powers your laser is disintegrated. That will be 5,649.00 plus labor 500.00 total will be 6149.00 that does not include 900.00 laser reclamation fees, 489.00 sales tax and 125.00 National Mining tax, will that be cash or charge. :rotfl:

Hi Pie

Put that on my Platinum Card Please! :)

Actually though it can be realistically done i'm sure Pie. It wouldn't have to be that sophisticated i don't imagine?

Thanks Pie and have a lovely evening :)
