I am so sorry :( Better to have died in loving arms however, than in a strangers cage at the vets office. I am sure that does not ease the pain any for you...however I am also quite sure it was quite a comfort to your pet. It's so hard to give them up :(

I'm really sorry to hear that. :(

I have to agree with Misty, it's no consolation for you, but I'm sure it was a comfort for him to be with you in his final moments, our pets love us unconditionally and they live to be with us.

After a year, I still can't bear to look at my dog's pics...had her 13 years. I loved that dog more than any woman, and that's no BS. Women came and went, but that dog was always with me. So I know this sucks for you.

I'm sure this made for the crappiest birthday ever, my condolences bro.

That really is sad to hear Humboldt :(

I guess what really matters at times like this is thinking off the wonderful times you two shared over the years and to celebrate those in your memory.

I remember when my doggy was very sick and almost died.

when I saw her in the vet's after her surgery, I started screaming and crying. Four years later, she's still doing great though.

my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Humby,
Sorry to hear that and sorry to have missed your B-Day. :(
(Trini's mom kept me busy, you know, the bi-monthly bath, dip and de-worming... You just about have to beat her to get her to the vet! :D )

Anyway, Trini's mom aside, I know how you feel about your babies and the bad luck that has been following you, of late it seems. Not much can be said except that perhaps a new one will lessen the pain... :)

Sorry to hear that Humbolt. I agree with all, though, your pet died in YOUR arms. Right where she/he always wanted to be.

A couple weeks ago noticed him breathing really heavily and not being able to run without coughing. Of course am hating myself for not taking him in earlier.

Took him in last week and they said he had heart problems. Brought him in yesterday, my birthday, for an EKG and xray. He seemed to be doing worse every day.

He still ate breakfast but was putting more and more energy into breathing.

When I got home from work last night he was obviously getting much worse really quickly. Still wagged his tail at me was you could tell he was really scared and in a lot of discomfort.

A friend came over with some anesthesia. I decided to put him down, my friend and my girlfriend went outside to give us a few minutes alone.

He got all wobbly on his feet, laid down in my arms, and died.

damnit.

Now he's out back under his favorite apple tree.
