Get this program so you can test right on your machine and go find some fast download sites.. http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/network/nsl.htm FREE
The speed test are usually off in the respect on how far from them you are the only way to get it right is to base it on your averages..

Just another way to do it :)

I have just tested my bandwidth on http://www.2wire.com/services/bandwidth.asp and it comes up showing about 450 on the check bandwidth!!!! Is that good for a cable modem (Cap 512k)

I would say that's pretty good.
In my area (1-wayu cable) I tested the cable modem at DSLReports it was like 250kbps (cap 500).
That's why I will wait to get Cable Modem 2-way should be in my area by June/July.
