Rant

Post by YeOldeStonecat »

Not good...to come home, and find that something funny happened with the power in my house.

Walk in the door...immediate sensation of "Brrr...who turned off the heat!" Dangit it's 48 degrees in the house. I recently got oil delivery, checked thermostats, yeah, sure enough, on 62 for the morning where it should be. Run downstairs, check furnace, yeah, she's hot...but on the zone box (4x zones for my system) first zone is showing red light, amber light next to it, other 3x zones are dead. Cycle power..nada...check connections, nada.

*sigh*

Notice some clocks in house flashing, musta been weird power surge. Go into office, to log on, main rig is ice cold. Server still running, internet still up, as I'm on my lappy here. Check main rig, power supply smells fine, twas on an APC, APC is fine, just...ugh..something cooked main rig. :(

Happiness is not taking a luke warm shower to step out and walk around nekked in a 48 degrees house going to get dressed. :nope:

I swear the soon to be ex has a curse on me. Those year practicing wicken in the past paid off for her. Got them poltergeists and manitu's working against me.

Here comes an expensive bill, weekend...holiday weekend call even.

Call the insurance agent.
If it was power related they should cover you.
Between comp, heating system controls, could get expensive.
Bummer too.
One thing to look at it, tomorrow is a new year, getting rid of all the voodoo hex crup today so you can start fresh,
OH!!!
Don't step out into traffic, or maybe lock yourself into a closet fro the remainder

Yeah beginning to think it's just a coincedence...as other devices plugged into the main APC are fine. My rig was getting old anyways...no time to take apart and look at it today, I'll leave that for tomorrow as I'm nursing my tremendous hangover. (Bailey's and coffee in the morning for sure :thumb: )

That’s the price you pay on a very busy weekend… when we talk about a wife like yours (she’s HOT. I just might knock a few thousand off the price for “personal” reasons,

For this job (considering your wife) you’re going to need a ‘rock solid’ alibi, cleaning right down to any and all DNA along with permeate body disposal,

Don’t want my services? Fine. Go with one of the cheaper guys in the phonebook. Write that on your prisons cell for the next 45 years,
People will forget what you said... and people will forget what you did... but people will never forget how you made them feel.

:nope: No No No.. Hey man, You call up your happy APC Reps in R.I...
and tell them you want comp. There should be "NO" reason why a surge even touched one of your rigs on that APC.
