Who has a pda?

Post by ace »

Anybody else here using a pda these days? If so what type is it and whats your service like on it. I went from a Samsung I500 to a treo 650 with sprint sevice and its heads above my old sammysung. Also the screen is amazing on this thing. And even though it doesnt have wifi I get decent speeds from it, way better than dialup. Actually I come in around 125-140 kbps with about 1-2 seconds latency.

We still have the nextels ace, although we have an automatic phone system now that we call to put boxes on, etc. so we dont have to deal with dispatchers.

JCOS that is bad ass!! On my treo we run the palm os. I wish it was the windows mobile but that will be the next upgrade I believe.

And wee, not having to talk to dispathers as much is awesome as I am sure you already know!! Are you guys planning on getting pda's or is it going to be nextel forever?

Read the specs on this bad boy. The best of all the features is the design and that it seems to be designed from a "users" perspective and not by some desktop engineer.

Theyre still stickin to nextel, as we just got new phones. We use up 900000 cell minutes though nowadays, everything is done over the phone not the radio. Hell, most dispatchers dont even have a radio anymore. It can both suck and be beautiful at the sametime, dont have them nagging you and you can get a box hit within 20 seconds rather than waiting on hold. System goes down though when you truely need it, ughh.

Isnt that the truth. Our csg goes down at the crapiest times ever. I actually dont use it as much as the installers but I still need to swap out modems, emta's, etc.. At least I have the pda to mess with on downtime. I have pocket dvd and put a movie on my memory card, it takes me about a week to watch a movie but its better than nothin! :D

Who HAS a PDA. HAS. As in, someone who possesses one, and therein would be able to offer feedback in regard to the original inquiry.

Ace posts: "Who has a Stinger missile launcher"?

Burke posts: "Not me, and I never will. I never have much use for one."

Now, if it were like this:

Ace posts: "Stinger missile launcher: opinions?"...different.

See?

Quit posting off-subject. I see no reference to your PDA.

Zaurus 6000N

No dtmf, but integrated wifi and SIP client. Since all of SF is pretty much one big hotspot, that has served me well. And I can honestly say I have linux in my pocket ;)

Windows mobile? Why not take all the locks off your doors, spraypaint your windshield back and hope for the best - would probably be safer

:p
