There is this guy at work.

Post by Spammy »

He is just a fricking weirdo. He see's all my tattos and goes hey man can you refer me to a good artist? I want to get a tattoo. I said of what?

He says i want to get infantry bataliion blah blah blah, on my shoulder.

I said oh you were in the service and he said no. Im like why the hell would you want this tattod on you then. He said I reenact the something war (forgot which one he told me). Im like Um ok.

To me I find this to be gay. You know what I mean? You need to earn those stripes. Not just get them because you get to reenact them.

I don't know maybe im being a little to sensitive on the matter.

What do you think?

I would like to hear from all the soldiers x soldiers ect.

It is kinda lame. I knew a guy who got the crossed rifles (the infantry logo) tattooed on his back, then he became intel.

I dont know, like it doesnt really bother me a whole lot, guess it depends more on what hes getting.

Sam, you should refer him to a friend of yours and have the friend put whatever on him with a little "hidden" vagina or something like the cover of Disney movies and such. Now THAT would be funny.

Sounds like a ploy to get you to take your shirt off for him.

Also sounds like it worked.

I agree 100%. Only men and women who have served deserve the right to have any type of military tatoo. And yes, I speak as a "soldier" who served three years. Although I did not serve during a time when we were fighting any wars, I was proudly part of the Search and Rescue missions when Mount Saint Helens blew. I was stationed with the 9th Aviation Battalion at Fort Lewis at the time.

Sorry to get off topic, but certain things in life should be EARNED!!

I didn't get any tat's. But I had a blast when I was serving! Picture this...my toolbox was taller than me (I'm only 5'0") and several parts of the engine I worked on weighed more than I did (95 lbs.). The guys just loved making fun of the little woman mechanic working on the helicopters. But (and yes, I'm bragging) since I graduated third in my class (95 guys, 5 girls)...I just laughed at their jokes.

I think they just didn't know what to make of me. Of course, the "brave" ones were well rewarded.

No problem. It's the trueth. I tried to enlist into the Navy when I was younger but they said "NO" because I had some issues with the law when I was a teenager. Basically, they said I was an alcoholic and needed to wait at least a year, say out of trouble, then to try again. Never tried again, but sometimes I wish I would have. I would love to serve my country. I'm too old now :(

From then or now.? I was 23 then and I'm 49 now....I don't photograph very well or more likely I'm just a plain jane. Besides I'd be too afraid to post my pic on here. I couldn't take all the laughter...LOL!!

Ask my brother "Dan"...he'll give you an honest opinion of my looks.

I'm too old too, but if I was 20 years younger, I'd be back in there.

Pie

Quoted before this thread continues any further off track. Pie has probably hit the nail on the head - the guy most likely is a Civil War reenactor.

You and I know this but read Spammy's initial post. My post was for Spammy's sake, just pushing Pie's idea to the forefront.

Don't people do the Revolutionary war too? The Civil is most often re-enacted tho. Those guys are hardcore sometimes.
