Any SGers use Ghost 8 with a network boot disk?
I've tried Bart's, the Universal TCP/IP Network Bootdisk, and the 911 Rescue CD (based on Bart's).
The problem: Ghost 8.0.0.984 will not save images to a network share (Local | Partition | To Image). However, I can restore Ghost images from network shares just fine. I can also map drives to network shares and transfer files to/from those shares without issue. The Drive Mapping Boot Disk created by the Boot Wizard that comes with Ghost works, however, I need the flexibility of Bart's Network Boot Disk/the 911 Rescue CD.

Ghost 8 + Network Boot Disk
What sort of flexibility are you referring to? Surely if the network boot disk connects to the network, maps a drive and then allows the image transfer, that's all you need.
We use a standard dos network boot disk, but have ported it to a USB stick.
Have you tried using PXE booting? not don't it myself but am told it's really good.

The modular design of Bart's Net Boot Disk is what I like. Easy to add network card drivers, setup different images, change menus, etc. As for PXE, I dont want to setup a PXE server on any of my machines - PXE is just not needed for my size network.objohn wrote:What sort of flexibility are you referring to?
