Didn't you hear? Bush prayed to God to finish off the blacks that Katrina missed in NO, so God answered his prayers with Rita. The peeps from Mississippi are safe though, that's a God fearing state that also happens to be a red state, so Bush spared them mercy

I hope your kidding.. cause doesn't matter what race anyone is.. its that individuals choice to live where they wish.. so lets not point fingers at Bush again.. He's the first president to have to go through possible 3 major disasters during his presidency which I'm sure Rita will be the 3rd.. starting with 9/11. I know I couldn't any better... if for those that think they can well its your right to run for office!

I'm pretty sure he is, since Prey is a Bush man and he had the rollie eyes. Not to mention his earlier post about how people bashing Bush are just mad at the good job he is doing.

Kat flickered to a 5 then back to a 4,
Rita is still strong at a 5....

Rita is gonna be BAD.....

Hurricanes have a hard time maintaining the Barometric pressure needed to remain a cat 5.. Nature works against a destructive force that strong. if Rita stays at a 5.. and gets much worse.. this could be the worst storm EVER.. Whats creapy is that the previous #1 most devistating storm was in Galveston,TX..

I have an Uncle that lives in outside of Dallas,Tx he said he's far enough inland to be able to survive the basic wind.. but when it hit 5.. he started packin... Rita's hittin tornado Alley there folks.. she's gonna bend Texas, Kansas, and a ton of other states so far over thier a$$ will be in front and they will still be lookin forward......

My prayers are with everyone down there..

What is important to realize, is all of the people that will be affected. When my friend was flying a rescue helicopter in New Orleans, after Katrina hit, he couldn't believe all of the dead bodies floating in the water, including babies...
I wasn't really thinking of political side of things. If you live in this country or not, you have to feel a great sense of remorse and saddness when something as tragic as this is going to happen, "again". No matter where or who you are or whatever you believe in.... :(

Well as of 22hrs ago Pres. Bush has already declared a state of emergency in Texas and LA even before Rita hits.

I'm not saying that of course State and Local authorities don't have a huge responsibility in natural or man made disasters but hey....do do the Feds, no matter what you hear on talk radio or Faux news. The Office of Homeland Security has a huge part in all this. If you disagree and agree with how the Feds DID handle Katrina then you need to write your Congressmen and ask that the Office of Homeland Security, be abolished. After all, they did pretty poorly to uphold their own charter.

http://www.dhs.gov/dhspublic/theme_home2.jsp

________

Preparing America

In the event of a terrorist attack, natural disaster or other large-scale emergency, the Department of Homeland Security will assume primary responsibility on March 1st for ensuring that emergency response professionals are prepared for any situation. This will entail providing a coordinated, comprehensive federal response to any large-scale crisis and mounting a swift and effective recovery effort. The new Department will also prioritize the important issue of citizen preparedness. Educating America's families on how best to prepare their homes for a disaster and tips for citizens on how to respond in a crisis will be given special attention at DHS.

I don't know why, if they haven't already done so. don't they open the inbound lane for outbound traffic. Just merge them at another point away from the city so they can at least get them out of there.
