Your top 10 albums of all time

Post by loop2kil »

I know i've done this before, but i like to see what people listen to musically and we've got some new faces around these days.

Came up with this list in a couple minutes and there could easily be 20-30 other albums on this list...and they are in no particular order. I tend to lean towards bands/artists that can make complete albums of quality and not just 1 or 2 songs that get air time on the radio to sell an album.

METALLICA - MASTER OF PUPPETS
STAIND - BREAK THE CYCLE
ALICE IN CHAINS - DIRT
PEARL JAM - 10
PANTERA - VULGAR DISPLAY OF POWER
NIRVANA - UNPLUGGED
GUNS 'N ROSES - APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION
MARILYN MANSON - ANTICHRIST SUPERSTAR
PINK FLOYD - THE WALL
LED ZEPPELIN - 1st ALBUM

I wouldn't even know where to start...

Jazz? Classical? Rock and Pop?

Probably my most played...

Ten Years After, A Space In Time..

Maybe it's Floyds, Wish You Were Here..

Possibly Jethro Tull, Benefit.

Pink Floyd?
Beatles?
Stones?
The Doors?
Steppenwolf?
Savoy Brown?
Stevie Ray Vaughn?
Hendrix?
It's A Beautiful Day?

I can't list 10 or even 20.

Dunno..

Greatest, Favorite albums of all time are hard to choose...I listen to tons of music, every few months I find something I think is incredible, but you never know how it'll hold up with time. Years later some stuff sounds better than when it first came out, some stuff sounds weaker. Plus, I think your age and frame of mind when the cds come out influences your choices...but heres my own list, roughly

Def Leppard- Hysteria

Medicine- The Buried Life

Cub Betti Cola (local canadian band, not famous)

Nirvana Nevermind

Smashing Pumpkins (tie between 2 albums) Mellon Collie and Siamese Dream

The Beatles White Album

Andrew WK I get Wet (Thought it was cheesy/didn't know what to think when I first heard it, then got into it and went nuts for it)

50 Cent Get Rich or Die Trying (The new album sucks, but this is THE best rap album ever. "The good book says what goes around comes around/5 weeks after I got shot he got shot down/And now I know I'm hear for a real reason/ because he got hit like I got hit, but he aint ****in' breathin'."

Aphex Twin - Richard D. James (I've Taken this album literally around the world, east and west, in a loop. Bought it in 1996 and feels fresh and new every time I hear it)

Newer stuff I really like, but need more time to make a final judgement-

Yeah Yeah Yeahs Fever to Tell
Gorillaz Demon Days
Air Talkie Walkie
Funny is when a fat lady walks around while someone plays the tuba. Once you've seen that, you'll never laugh at anything else. Except maybe a skeleton dancing around while someone plays the xylophone, which is almost exactly the opposite of a fat lady walking around while someone plays the tuba. Well, a skeleton is the opposite of a fat lady. But is a xylophone the opposite of a tuba? History will decide.
