I've found this excellent site and have started to tweak/break (delete as applicable) my DSL connection. However I've noticed that the following entries to the registry are set by the TCP Optimiser at a completely different level than suggested in the 'sticky' Tips on Tweaking Guide:
DnsPriority = 1
HostsPriority = 1
LocalPriority = 1
NetbtPriority = 1
But when set by the TCP Optimiser tool it sets to 7, 6, 5 & 8 respectively.
Why is this?
Cheers
Neil

The sticky was not written by me. Generally, services should get different priorities, but it does not matter much, seems to work either way. I'd use the Optimizer values.
The idea behind this tweak is to give those services higher priorities (with lower numbers being higher), and both methods do that (the original priorities are in the 500 - 2000 range).
