Before I start, Here are my laptop specs -

Sony Vaio PCG-FRV26
128MB Radeon IGP Pro
512MB RAM
Pentium 2.8Ghz NonHT
15" XVGA LCD Screen

Well, I've had this laptop for about 18 months and a few days ago the laptop suddenly started to overheat when running CPU intensive applications such as Adobe Photoshop CS, Frontpage 2003, and Macromedia Flash. I bought a cooler but it was to no prevail. Also, after about 5-20 minutes of gaming on Quake3, Battlefield1942, or RainbowSix3, the laptop overheats and shuts down. If I immediately start it up again it inevitably rejects the hard drive. I have to wait about half an hour until it is safe to use it again.
The laptop fans are always spinning since its a Pentium 4, but does anyone know what I can do to fix it? A relative said that it may be a chipset issue but are there any other reasons?
Thanks,
Mohammad
