I'm really getting sick of people
I'm really getting sick of people
putting me down and stuff for liking SCIFI
saying i'm a geek, nerd, saying there are no girls into SCIFI, etc.. etc..
when you know good and well there are very big Star Wars fans here on this board
among other SCIFI shows
why all the piss on the face and ado about liking or going to a SCIFI convention?
does it make you feel better to put someone down like that?
do you feel all big and superior?
i think it's time for me to take another long break from SG
you all need to grow the **** up

honestly brent, dont say we need to grow up then play the whole "im taking my ball and going home!" game with us.
certain things are considered geeky in this society whether u want it to or not, like sci fi, band camp, having internet girlfriends, being a boyscout after the age of 10, etc etc..
its not just speedguide that has made up this crazy idea that going to sci fi conventions is geeky, so dont blame us for pointing out the obvious.. no more then we make fun of prey for his poetry readings.
maybe you should take it as constructive critisism

dude, you just go over the top with everything you decide to like. need to learn to temper some of your geekier qualities.
I like some wierd stuff too. You just have to take the hits. if you're that insecure about it then don't tell us about it. hell, I'll take some hits right now just so you're not alone today at the bottom of the pile lol

My son ... ask for thyself another internet connection, for that which I leave is too slow for thee
For what it's worth Brent, Janey was a band nerd in highschool, she LOVES sci-fi stuff (I'd never watch Star Trek TNG until I met her), she's in the SCA (medieval role playing), reads RA Salvator books, etc, etc. So I've never said a word to you about them....trust me you'll find a hot girl that's into those thing just like you.
Hang in there and don't let that stuff bother you.

So what deal with it like everyone else! Why dont you grow up and stop your little cry baby temper tantrums? You such little interaction with real people in life that it causes these problems. Sometimes people make fun of **** cuz its funny!!! Look at this forum, we're all geeks in some way.
Learn to laugh it off or something, or jus tdont post it if your not ok with yourself.

I'm just sick of people saying I should pretend to be someone else, hide my true side, etc...
Why? I ask
I don't want a women who is in love with a false persona, I want a women who falls in love with the real me and likes me for me.
Why hide what I like and am into. I hate people making fun of me for it like it's something bad.
I think it's all that crap that turns a lot of people off to things like SCIFI that aren't "socially acceptable". Well, society sucks damnit.
Damn those that make fun of me, I'm gonna be who I am and I won't hide it. I'll never realize the full enjoyment of the stuff I like if I hide it. Damn people for saying I should hide it and Damn people for making fun of me and others that are passionate about something SCIFI.

If you grew a spine and some thick skin, people would lay off of you.

See now that is showing some spine! LOL! You too can learn! And you didn't even have to beam your puny little brain to the holodeck to "get it".
