Actually, I too love @Home. O.K., let me re-state that... I love @Home (when it's working right!)
I had a number of problems with my @Home service for the last month or so but I finally complained enough and exhausted the Tier 2 support enough to get them to relent and give me a new NIC card... Wouldn't you know - "Problem solved!"
I don't know what they're thinking sometimes but the tech guy admitted that they actually prefer to replace the entire cable modem rather than swap out a NIC. Doesn't make sense either financially or common sense-wise, does it?
@Home is still better than going through Dial-up anyday.
BTW, the original post wasn't flame-bait, was it?

Well, I've had my cable modem for seven weeks but have only had the service working for 1 week. That should tell you what I think about @ Home. Sure when it works it works great, but when it doesn't it's like a roll of the dice to get someone competent enough to help you. Plus they seem to pass the buck around between the line people, the net people and anyone else when there isn't a problem that can't easily be solved. From what I've seen though @ Home seems to do some things right so right now I'm a content customer and may even be a satisfied one someday.

I think it is great. I have only had one major outage in over nine months of service. That lasted for three days. Sure, we went through the e-mail problems but those have been corrected.

@Home has been great, other than having to deal with customers who've had to deal with customer support ;)
Seriously, my speeds have been 2-3 Mbit up/1 Mbit down for the last year with maybe two outages that have lasted only a couple of hours.
I've talked to a number of people here locally, and with Ameritech's track record of late, the dsl connection side of things hasn't been exactly stellar for those who have it in Indy...

I've had @home 3yrs. had 2 minor problems which were fixed quickly. Outages are very rare & don't last very long. Having my cable modem & @home on a bad day, is better than using dial-up on ANYDAY.
