Has Mediacom upgraded anyone anywhere?
This has been one lousy service since I signed up in September 2000.
Since last October Mediacom Techs have said they expect the system to be up to par in 30 days.
Now they say Mobil Alabama will be the first to be hooked up to excite@home. Asked, when will Huntsville be hooked up? Answer, 30days.
Same response from Mediacrap here too. I'm not putting to much faith in them getting the customers good speeds even when they do upgrade. I max out now at 160kbps but have been down to 40kbps. By the way, if you want to send them a e-mail here is the address. I actually got a response from them and also it is very easy to get a credit off your bill and even the whole month free if the right person answeres the phone. customerservice@mediacomcc.com Maybe one day they will atleast hit 500kbps.
SB, Just to update you, I stopped buy the Mediacom office yesterday and was told 30-60 days before we see any improvement in modem speed. Mediacom has been giving me the 30 day excuse since last October.
They are back to saying they are waiting on Bell South to install more lines and Bell South will not give them a date for completion. I have heard this excuse since November of 2000.
I really doubt we will ever see any improvement because these people are in way over their heads.
Bell South is installing DSL in our area so maybe I can kiss Mediacom goodbye!
