Web Page Slows

Help please!!
I have earthlink cable internet service.
I am downloading at incredible speeds averaging 650 per second
I am very satisfied with that!
But at the same time many webpages I load as I surf the web stall and
take long to come down, some pages are almost instant but about half
are very slow. Does anyone know what can cause lightning like downloads
and turtle slow web surfing at the same time?

I have been having a similar problem with my Sprint DSL. Downloads go at normal speed but browsing the web often hangs up.

First things first - scoot to the SG Broadband Tweaks forum and post the needed information to get you started with tweaking. Folks there are pretty good.

What are some of the examples of the sites your trying to download that are slow?

Some sites may be on servers half a world away and they may have router issues between you and them. I always use google as my test page. If google loads slow most likey you got a problem locally. If your trying to goto a site that is popular it may load slower.

Also Spyware has been slowing pcs down dramatically. They get filled up with useless info and bogs down pcs.
