^sure...ps2 made an extra add on option being a series of hard drives..and a friend had 3 so he gave me one its a 40gig...5400rpm slow but does the job...im using it right now and have never had a problem with it i just had to wipe the ps2 partition out and create a new partition works fine...i also tried my other hd and well it still doesnt work... :( someone told me to get an older hd but i heard from multiple people that it wasnt a hardware issue...as my friend with the same duplicate copy of this ps2 hd is using this hd to run linux perfectly fine someone told me it was the version and to get a newer version of Linux...so idk im thinking about doing so sometime very soon cuz i want a Linux Box...

Might want to go to Slackware.com and get version 10.0. Its free to download via ftp or torrent, or you can order all four disks for 39.95. At the very least you could download ZipSlack which runs off of a DOS partition to get used to using Linux.

Dell Axim X3

And just in case anyone has any idea what I am talking about: My first computer was a Unisys!

^Thanks i was thinking on downloading Gentoo stage 3 just to see how it is and to get use to it...then stage one at a later date because stage1 you have to compile everything from scratch..but it should be a good learning exp. and fun

I you're a linux newbie and still dare to go down the path of gentoo, go stage 1.

It might be difficult, but you will benefit from it. You will probably learn more on the install from stage 1 Gentoo than you would have done the entire time using Suse. :p

The gentoo forums http://forums.gentoo.org/ also supply a lot of information and questions that have usually been asked before. Very good place to start when you reach some trouble.
