Am I correct in thinking you're required to re-take the exam once every 3 years after passing?

Yes but someone told me 5 years. A few here could give us the correct response but I do believe you are correct.

My job is sending me to Cisco Boot Camp in NJ and also a 1 week checkpoint FW class. Should be pretty cool.

CCNA requires a re-cert every 3 years (used to be 6). Not really sure why as the principles don't change that much over that period of time. It's not a money thing either, since most of the cost of the test goes to the test places and not to Cisco.
