Having Trouble Booting?

Post by Kastel86 »

My Computer takes several restarts before it is able to pass the first boot screen. The one where it checks if all your hardware is installed properly. My Hard drive cannot be found for the first few boots and takes about 9 restarts or more till it finally finds it and boots properly? I opened up my computer and made sure the IDE cables were securely in place but that didnt solve the problem? What could be causing this?
AMD Athlon XP 2000

Make sure the IDE cables are seated properly into the HDD and the MB. If it still continues after that try a new 80pin cable.

That just happened to me two weeks ago. My problem was my cable was not seated fully.

Go to the hard drive manufactures website and download the diagnostics disk and run it.
