what is your upload speed? (BB only)
what is your upload speed? (BB only)
I currently am pondering getting an additional ISP and load balancing so that I can have enough bandwidth to host my own site ... from home as opposed to paying to rent space and bandwidth...
But, I only have 3000/384 SBC DSL for $36.99 right now and when gaming or whatever I fear that I would not be able to adequately host a site.
So, what do you have for a data stream, who with, and how much do you pay for it (if you don't mind)?
Thanks,

You're going to need a 'business' connection, as having a server on a home line is not only agains the TOS and AUPs, but kind of slow.

May want to look into getting a fractional T. I tell ya...real T-1's will perform far superior when dealing with concurrent traffic than broadband does. And fractional T's aren't necessarily that much more expensive, considering you're comparing the price of 2x concurrent broadbands.

As far as residential rates go out where you're at, I think you only have a couple of options - DSL or Comcast. I'm checking on some stuff at work tomorrow for a Navy friend, and I'll check to see if they have the new promotion in place yet for new internet subscribers (12 months for 19.99/month - 3000/256)...if you go that route (let me know so I can put you in and pull down the commission

Tony,

Does this apply to the total bill or just the TV part of it?
If I get this, and the 20 bux a month, I will gladly switch it over ...
as long as I have no downtime
and JD can come out and hook it up and not mention that I have a dish still mounted ... ( I currently have 3 of em
) and I can then do the load balance or just dedicate a line for now

I'll check tomorrow when I go back into work if the two promotions can be used together
