I had the SBC Yahoo DSL package for $26.99 and tested frequently at 1.2Mbps...
Well... For some reason they disconnected my DSL service "For NO reason", and I never re-ordered service cause I was pissed. I now found an internet provider in my area that offers DSL. Currently I'm paying $34.99 a month just for 384K worth of speed. They also offer the 1.5Mbps for $49.99.
I feel that I'm getting ripped because SBC's DSL was a lot faster and cheaper... Just wanted your opinions
I don't liek sbc but they do have a good price. every ISP can charge whatever they want. Theres no scam involved there, if you dont wanna pay that much then get a different service.

That's just it... I live in Festus, Missouri and besides SBC, and this company I am using now (JCN Internet) I have found absolutely no other alternative for DSL!!
I honestly think this is my only option for any internet speed around here besides SBC
* Don't get me wrong... The DSL is good, but it's like going from a Corvette to a Chevette, and paying more for it!!

There's other things to consider besides just "advertised throughput". Quality of the DSL, latency, if you're allowed to run services behind it, etc. For my DSL provider, I pay about 3x times what SBC charges...but it's well worth it for me.

I would say its up to you, if you are looking for a high quality service then you might be happy with the 384k line you got and pay a little more.. However if you can live with some issues that might happen on the cheaper SBC dsl network it might be work switching back.. my 2 cents worth...
