General discussion related to Cable Modems, DSL, Wireless, Fiber, Mobile Networks, Wireless ISPs, Satellite, or any other type of high-speed Internet connection, general issues and questions here. Review and discuss ISPs as well (AT&T / SBC, BellSouth, Bright House, CableOne, Charter, Comcast, Covad, Cox, Cablevision / Optimum Online, TMobile, Verizon FIOS, Shaw, Telus, Starlink, etc.)
Does anyone know if a real-time connection monitor is available for cable service?
Specifically, a real-time monitor that checks d/u speeds at a regular interval to provide a better picture of true d/u speeds then the quickie tests do..
I suspect that my speeds aren't where they should be (AT&T@home), but i have no proof to show the level 2 techs.
You also might wanna try AnalogX's netstat live. It's freeware, and it give you information on how much you're up/downloading. If you want to test your bandwidth, download as much as you possibly can at the same time, and then check which numbers it displays.
Cheers,
Ronald

How do you, guys use NSL? I mean, as far as my speed, I do not need a speedometer to surf, I know when the net is fast and when it's slow. Can SNL tell me that the speed is slow because of my PC problem, and, therefore, I can do something?
Another thing: its interface. It displays thin green characters on black background, I can barely read the largest ones.
